These LEGO Instructions from 1974 Are Awesome (And Yes, They're Real)
True in the 1970's and still true today.

A Dragon's weekend

This weekend we stepped inside the Dragon's Cave - the Estádio do Dragão - where we explored the history and trophies of the club in the Museu do Futebol Clube do Porto, and experienced an incredible stadium tour.

We looked at our lovebird's nest.
They were sitting on five little white eggs, to incubate them until they hatch small baby parrots
(or little Dragons, who knows?
Sr. Urso joined                         us for dinner!

Pyjama Day in Reception Bears

Our aim was to get a good day's sleep.      First of all we had a bedtime snack:       school made jam tarts,                           cottage biscuit                                               and milk.
Before going to bed we all brushed our teeth.
We had a bed time story.
We counted sheep.
We lay down in bed.
But we could not sleep - we had
too much energy so we rolled out of bed.
Jumped on the bed

Designed a nightie or a pair of pyjamas in ICT

Ate bananas in pyjamas

YUM!

One would have thought that going to sleep
would be an easy thing to do...

Reception Bears were able to raise over
100 Euros to sponsor fostering children
who do not have a family.
Thank you Bears!

Magic carpet

Today Prep and Reception classes visited the
"Magic Carpet" factory at Casa da Música.

The factory workers were making, painting, hanging, and folding magic carpets.
One particular carpet did not want to fly.
As we listened to music from around the world we saw one of the factory workers climb up to the sky to get some magic dust.
We saw some elegant magic tricks performed to the sound of oriental music but the carpet still would not fly.
The carpet was tired of being trodden on, it wanted to dance instead to the sound of a Tango.
Dance lead the Magic Carpet all the way to Hollywood.

Ted in my bed

Ted came to spend the weekend.
He stayed overnight.

In the morning we had breakfast together.

We played together inside
because it was raining outside.

Science Day

On Friday 7th November the Primary Section celebrated
Science Day.
Reception Bears tested how well they could do things with their eyes open compared to having their eyes closed.
Among several tasks we tried:
Assembling blocks

Writing own name
Building a tower of blocks
(even Mr. Evans gave it a shot)

Jumping

We found out that some things we could do just the same,
others took longer and other tasks were very difficult to complete.
See how we can hop turning around and bouncing and catching a ball.

We also attempted to identify what was on these plates:
Our eyes did not help, but our taste did:
Salt, sugar, iced tea and honey.
Well done Rodrigo and Suhani for identifying all four.

We also investigated how much we rely on our dominant hand.
Pictures on the right are drawn with our right hand.
Pictures on the left are drawn with our left hand.

drawing results

The children did a good job but said it was much harder
with non-dominant hand.
